Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication Studies to teach in the Media and Cultural Studies concentration of the Communication Studies department with a beginning August 1, 2016. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Communication with an emphasis on media, Cultural Studies, or closely related field and a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate, liberal arts curriculum. The ideal candidate will support the media and cultural studies concentration through offering classes that span the rhetorical, cultural, and historical issues associated with the modern media landscape. The ability to teach classes specifically related to rhetoric and rhetorical theory, public address, and public relations is particularly desirable. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in the major core including critical approaches to research as well as in the general education core including public speaking. An active program of research in the candidate’s area of expertise is encouraged and supported by the institution.
