Ian Whittington is a PhD Candidate at McGill University in Montreal, where he is completing a dissertation entitled "Writing the Radio War: British Literature and the Politics of Broadcasting, 1939-1945." Focusing on the intersections between literature and radio broadcasting during the Second World War, this project includes chapters on George Orwell, E.M. Forster, Rebecca West, Louis MacNeice, Nancy Mitford, Una Marson, and J.B. Priestley. Ian's work also bridges modernism and postcolonial studies, moving from the war period to examine mid- and late-twentieth century fiction, poetry, and broadcasting from the Caribbean, India, and South Africa.
