The Program in Literature at Duke University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Theory and Global Culture. We seek scholars who are committed to interdisciplinary research and teaching, and rigorously engaged with the objects, methods, and analytic priorities of the humanities in a global frame. We welcome candidates from any discipline in the humanities. PhD must be complete by the time the position begins on August 1, 2017. Applications are invited from outstanding candidates who have research and teaching interests in interdisciplinary literary studies, in an area such as (but not restricted to) digital humanities, literature and the environment, literature and visual culture, or cross-media narrative. The successful candidate will be expected to have an excellent research and teaching profile, commensurate with career stage, which will complement the Department's existing strengths. He or she will be able to make a significant contribution to undergraduate teaching and to teach widely and flexibly across a range of periods and subjects. He or she may also be asked to contribute to postgraduate teaching and examining. The successful candidate will be a research leader and will be expected to contribute to one or more of Durham's interdisciplinary research groups or centres.
The appointment is the equivalent of tenure-track, i.e. potentially permanent; "lecturer" in the UK is the equivalent of "assistant professor."

University of Florida (FL) - TT Asst. Professor of English - Critical Theory and Modernist and/or Contemporary Literatures - CAMPUS INTERVIEW STAGE[]
The Department of English at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2017. Specialization: Critical theory, with an additional emphasis in English-language modernist and/or contemporary literatures. Successful candidates must demonstrate scholarship and commitment to teaching in both historical theoretical movements (post-structuralism, critical theory, hermeneutics, psychoanalysis, feminism) and contemporary practices (Marxist, Lacanian, queer, globalization, affect, post-colonial, critical race theories), as well as in one or more English-language twentieth-century and/or contemporary literary traditions. We especially welcome candidates with additional expertise in one or more of the following: multiple media and genres, digital humanities, cultural studies, comparative approaches, and non-Anglo-American English-language literatures (South Asian, Irish, Caribbean, African). The normal teaching assignment is two courses per semester.The Department of English has a strong commitment to diversity, and we are especially interested in increasing the diversity of our faculty. Wesleyan University’s College of Letters invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Letters beginning July 1, 2017. The College of Letters is an interdisciplinary major in predominantly European literature, history, and philosophy. Team teaching of material from all three disciplines over the period from antiquity to the present is required. Broad literary and historical interests are thus essential. Expertise in a foreign language of European origin is required. The teaching load is 2/2. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students, carrying on a program of research, and participating in faculty governance at the departmental and university level. We seek a scholar specializing in aesthetics in the continental tradition of philosophy and who can also teach the history of philosophy from the 17th-19th centuries.
