NOTES:

  • Applied 12/2 received email confirmation 12/18 (x2)
  • Received an email from their EEO office to provide voluntary applicant race/gender information for administrative purposes. 1/13
  • Rcvd first confirmation of receipt of app 12/18. Today, 1/19, a second confirmation of receipt of materials. Not sure if that's good or bad or irrelevant.

    • I received one too! I was also wondering if they had just mistakenly replicated past administrative business or if my receiving the email meant something, like I had made some long list and they were making sure I knew my dossier had been noticed. Or maybe this was a kiss-off prelude to the thank you for applying but we're going in a different direction letter. Ugh, how stressful! I wish they had sent more information, like how many applicants there were and when the search committee planned on scheduling interviews. Oh well, patience. 1/19
    • Feels like dating. Have to call my girlfriends and overanalyze every word. Do you think he likes me? Does he find me interesting? Will he call? ;-) Hopefully it is a good sign, right?
    • I got one of those too today (1/19). Seems like a replication to me, but I'm bitter at how this job search year is going.
    • You hit it right on the head by comparing this to dating and losing our mind over the possible meanings of every little move. And, boy, bitter does not come close to describing how I feel about the fail that this year has been so far. The worst is having to plan and apply for every thing so far in advance then spend so much time not knowing about, literally, what your life will look like next year.
  • I contacted the dept. asking for an update on the search schedule. They responded that they anticipate inviting finalists to Hawaii for campus visits late Feb early Mar. As far as I know, said finalists have not yet been notified. Just wanted to put this info out there for those of you trying to organize yourselves and figure out where the timing of this search might fit into whatever else you've got going on this season. Good luck! (2/6) Q: Thanks for this info! I emailed them and received no response. Probably not a good sign :-( Any idea if they've done phone interviews yet? A: No clue.
  • I heard they've been doing phone interviews the last week or so (Feb 26).

March 2 - campus visits are being scheduled.
