BARD COLLEGE invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Religion in the area of Buddhist studies to begin fall 2015.

The position requires a dedicated commitment to teaching and scholarship in a liberal arts college. Applicants should possess a broad and strong foundation in the formative or classical traditions and literatures of Buddhism in Asia, with appropriate language proficiency, and an understanding of later and contemporary developments within Buddhist traditions. The Religion Department of Barnard College announces a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of American religion. Bucknell University (PA) - Christianity

The Department of Religious Studies at Bucknell University invites applications for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Christianity, to begin in August 2015. The Department of Religious Studies at Bucknell serves majors and minors in Religion, as well as a large number of students from other majors. We seek a teacher-scholar who can help us maintain the department's reputation for effective teaching and productive research, and whose teaching, research, and service will contribute to the department's commitment to diversity and academic excellence. Completion of the Ph.D. in Christianity/Religious Studies or advanced ABD is required. The ideal candidate will have an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to the academic study of Christianity.

Job content: The tenure-track assistant professorship is offered in Religious Studies with focus on modern Asian religion(s). In selecting an applicant, special emphasis will be placed on the scope of the applicants research, future research plans and the researchs solid and well-documented grounding in knowledge of a relevant Asian language and its cultural and social contexts. The successful applicant must be able to teach and supervise at BA and MA levels and in relation to religion in the relevant Asian society, and, where necessary, he/she must be able to include materials in the relevant language in his/her teaching. Dartmouth College Department of Religion invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2015 in the fields of Modern Religious Thought, and/or Religious Ethics, and/or Philosophy and Religion. Hampshire College (MA) - Asian Religions

Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for the position of assistant professor of Asian religions, beginning July 1, 2015.

We seek candidates with a specialization in one or more of the major religious traditions of East or South Asia qualified to teach introductory and upper-level classes in Asian religions and in world religions more generally. Hamilton College (NY) - Religious and Ethnic Diversity in the United States

The Religious Studies Department at Hamilton College announces an opening for an Associate Professor focusing on religious and ethnic diversity in the United States to begin on July 1, 2015. Preferred candidates are grounded in a particular American tradition but also work from a comparative / international perspective. Distinction in teaching, excellence in scholarship, and a strong record of service to the academic profession is required. Area of Expertise: Discipline or area of specialization is open, i.e., ethics, theology, history, practical theology, liberationist thought, critical theory, and/or postcolonial studies. Vanderbilt University (TN) - Religions of the American South

The Department of Religious Studies at Vanderbilt University seeks to make an appointment in Religions of the American South. Rank is Assistant Professor tenure-track. The ideal candidate will be able to address the complex and widely variable nature of the religious traditions of the South with a special consideration of the African-American religious experience and the multiple cultural and religious environments in which that was shaped. The successful applicant will be a senior scholar of international standing, specializing in one or more of the world's religious traditions, with a distinguished research record, a demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship, and an equally strong commitment to institution-building and to undergraduate education, including teaching in the College Common Curriculum. YALE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES intends to make a tenure-track appointment in the field of East Asian Buddhism beginning July 1, 2015, at the rank of Assistant Professor.
