Johns Hopkins University, Department of Health Policy and Management[]

The Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has an opening for a tenure-track faculty position in health and healthcare disparities.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. with graduate training in health services research, health policy, health equity, health economics, medical sociology, epidemiology or public health. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Successful applicants will work primarily with faculty in the Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions.  They will also have the opportunities to collaborate with other disparities researchers from the Schools of Public Health, Nursing, Medicine and Arts and Science.

The College of Public Health at The Ohio State University is searching for outstanding candidates for regular tenure-track and tenured faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full-Professor. We especially welcome candidates interested in addressing significant public health challenges facing Ohio and the nation, such as high infant mortality, tobacco control, food insecurity, health disparities, the epidemic of opioid use as well as the transformative changes in health care delivery. The successful applicants will be expected to develop and sustain an extramurally funded research program, contribute to the teaching mission, and mentor MPH and doctoral students. Departments are recruiting in the broad areas of biostatistics, bioinformatics, cancer epidemiology, health disparities, environmental health sciences, infectious disease, maternal and child health, global health, obesity, physical activity, tobacco control, alcohol and opioid use, mental health, behavioral economics, health services research health care reform, and health policy.

University of Alabama, Birmingham, Department of Health Behavior[]

Positions with a 12-month appointment are available in the Department of Health Behavior, School of Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). We expect to recruit a faculty member; tenure-earning, though any rank (instructor, assistant/associate professor, professor) and tenure status (tenure-earning, tenured, non-tenure earning) may be considered. An established record of research and publications in the modification of health-related behavior risk factors is required. The Department has established research programs in substance misuse and behavioral economics; tobacco control; obesity and physical activity; STI/HIV prevention; child health; family caregiving; and risk and resilience in emerging adults. Candidates with theoretical frameworks relevant to health behaviors such as behavioral economics, experience with multidisciplinary collaboration, and strong quantitative skills are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Epidemiology and Population Health in the School of Public Health and Information Sciences at the University of Louisville is seeking applicants for full-time, tenure-track positions at all academic ranks. Candidates for senior positions should have a strong record of peer-reviewed publication and extramural funding as a principal investigator. Candidates at entry level should show evidence for potential to become independent researchers and graduate-level instructors. Applicants must have doctoral degree in epidemiology. Applicants with a degree in a closely related field may be considered if they have at least 5 to 10 years of direct experience in epidemiology, depending upon rank.

Part-time/Adjunct/Contract Positions[]

New York University Washington, DC (NYUDC) Academic Center, Washington, DC - 2 positions[]

New York University's Washington, DC Academic Center is hosting 2 public health courses for an MPH program in summer 2017 (one each in Epidemiology and Biostatistics). The lecturing role includes all preparation, delivery, and grading (some administrative assistance is available to support the preparation of course materials). Courses are to be intellectually challenging in content, and rigorous student assessment is required. The salary will be based on equivalent and appropriate rates for the course.

Candidate requirements
Lecturers must be approved by the academic unit at NYU. The Epidemiology candidate is expected to have a PhD or DrPH in Epidemiology (or related field); the Biostatistics candidate is expected to have a PhD or DrPH in Biostatistics (or related field).
