University of Texas as El Paso - Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Health Sciences[]

This position is a tenure-track, nine-month academic year appointment with the possibility of summer teaching.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply. UNC-Chapel Hill - Assistant/Associate Professor in Injury Epidemiology[]

We are seeking outstanding individuals engaged in epidemiologic research on injuries and/or injury prevention.  As appropriate, the successful candidate might assume a leadership role in the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center. Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor must have a strong record of scholarship with experience as a principal investigator and collaborator on funded injury research. A candidate for the rank of Assistant Professor must have strong potential to become a funded independent investigator in the injury field. Deadline is Feb 10, 2014; start date is July 2014.

Virginia Tech - Assistant Professor of One Health Epidemiology[]

Westminster College - Assistant Professor of Epidemiology or Bioinformatics[]

In the biology department.  Teaching responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, teaching introductory courses for biology/molecular biology majors as well as designing and teaching at least one intermediate level course that focuses on the candidate’s area of expertise (Bioinformatics or Epidemiology). Yale University - Assistant/Associate Professor in Chronic Disease Epidemiology[]

We are particularly interested in candidates with interests in chronic disease from a global perspective (global non-communicable diseases). We are open to all areas of chronic disease, especially cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. Colgate University - Assistant Professor of Epidemiology[]

In the biology department - full title is of Global & Environmental Health - Epidemiology.  The successful candidate will team-teach in a foundation course in biology, teach elective courses including epidemiology, and participate in Colgate’s Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.  Opportunities also exist to contribute to the Environmental Studies program, lead Colgate’s unique semester-long program at the NIH and extended-study program to southwestern Uganda, and create new off-campus study opportunities in the candidate’s area of expertise.  Review begins Oct. 14.

Biostatistics[]

University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston) - Assistant Professor of Biostatistics[]

Preferred qualifications include statistical consulting and substantial classroom teaching experience. Consideration will be given to individuals with experience in conducting clinical research or CER/PCOR using electronic medical record data from hospitals or health systems. Start date is December 2013; review begins immediately.


University of Memphis - Assistant Professor of Biostatistics[]

The successful candidate should have an interest in the application of statistical methodologies to health sciences, develop and maintain an active research program, and obtain external research funds.  Desired areas of interest include, and not limited to, bioinformatics with emphasis on statistical methods and statistical computing on high throughput data, longitudinal and survival modeling, spatial and temporal modeling, in either a frequentist or Bayesian framework. Experience in analyses of birth cohorts and/or longitudinal studies, genetic and epigenetics data, and of childhood obesity is desirable but not required.  Review begins Sept. 1.

Focus on nutritional neuroscience.  Candidate areas of specialization are open, but could include: impacts of nutrition and malnutrition on child development; maternal and child health in low-resource regions; psychoneuro-immunology; environmental risk factors for health and disease; health impacts of chronic stressors such as civil strife, natural disasters and refugee status.  Teaching load is six course equivalencies per year and could include an introductory course in global health; courses in the college wide freshmen-sophomore (FS) curriculum; junior capstone seminar; upper-level courses in the areas of candidate’s interest; and senior project seminar. University of Florida - Open Rank Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology[]

Requires a PhD in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program.  The ideal candidate is expected to be the leader of a nationally or internationally recognized, externally-funded research program in one of three major areas of specialization within the Department (1) pediatric/clinical child psychology; (2) health psychology; or (3) neuropsychology/neuroscience. Researchers in these areas who focus on biopsychosocial aspects of drug dependence or infectious disease prevention  are encouraged to apply, though other areas of study also will be considered.
