The Department of Political Science and Legal Studies at Manhattanville College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Political Science, at the Assistant Professor level, in the area of International Politics, to begin August 2014, pending final budgetary approval. PhD in Political Science is required as is teaching experience, preferably at a liberal arts college. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher and have interests in International Politics, International Relations, and International Security. Candidates should be prepared to teach introductory courses in International Politics and Comparative Politics and preferably also Introduction to Political Science and/or Introduction to American Government. Teaching load is seven 3-credit courses per year. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the General Education Curriculum. The position also requires advising undergraduates, supervision of undergraduate research, a commitment to scholarship, college-wide service, and participation in college activities.

University of Calgary, Politics of Cities[]
The Department of Political Science at the University of Calgary invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2014. The area of specialization should be in the Politics of Cities. Applicants must have demonstrated expertise and an ongoing research programme that relates to cities and the contemporary challenges they confront. The Department particularly welcomes applicants working on issues of security and sustainability in megacities, urbanization in the global South, or the role of cities in multi-level governance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of or potential for scholarly research and teaching excellence and will be expected to develop courses in their research area, teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervise graduate students. A commitment to departmental and university service is expected, as is a willingness to engage with the wider community. A completed PhD at the time of appointment is expected.
The Department of Political Science is a dynamic and intellectually diverse teaching and research-oriented department. It is also one of the largest in the Faculty of Arts, with over 500 majors and roughly 40 graduate students, offering BA, MA and PhD degrees. Faculty are also responsible for supervision and teaching in a number of interdisciplinary programs, the School of Public Policy, and the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies.
