Anyone heard anything more about this one?

At my interview in November, I was told to expect notification of finalists in mid-December, but haven't heard anything yet.

Got notification that they've picked three people for campus visits in January...

Were selection/rejection notifications by phone, email, or snail mail?

It was an e-mail rejection in response to an e-mail inquiry on my part.

Ah - thanks for letting us know.

Teller Family Chair in Jewish History. We are seeking an Associate Professor or an accomplished Assistant Professor who is working on Jewish history in any place or period.

Deadline: Please submit a Cover Letter, CV, and Three Letters of Reference on-line at http://recruit.ap.uci.edu by December 17, 2010.

Invitation to submit more material, 1/6.

Anyone else hear anything? A: nothing.

Rejection via e-mail (1/26) --That's interesting. I've neither been rejected nor been asked for more materials.

It's probably not all that interesting; I e-mailed them inquiring into the status of my application, and they replied with an e-mail rejection. If you haven't heard anything at all, but others have been asked to submit more materials, perhaps that is a bad sign? I hope not, for you, but I'm just saying...

Four finalists on campus in February.

Notified mid-March that someone else was offered job. During campus visit it became clear that this is mainly a fundraising job.

Isn't every position in Jewish Studies ultimately about fundraising? (sad, but true)

Any news, now that it is March? Offers were made in mid-February.

Would've been nice to have been told something, especially since I did have a preliminary interview and sat with them face-to-face. Common courtesy. The lack of professionalism on this job market never ceases to astound me.
