Rejection via e-mail (1/26) --That's interesting. I've neither been rejected nor been asked for more materials.
It's probably not all that interesting; I e-mailed them inquiring into the status of my application, and they replied with an e-mail rejection. If you haven't heard anything at all, but others have been asked to submit more materials, perhaps that is a bad sign? I hope not, for you, but I'm just saying...
Four finalists on campus in February.
Notified mid-March that someone else was offered job. During campus visit it became clear that this is mainly a fundraising job.
Isn't every position in Jewish Studies ultimately about fundraising? (sad, but true)

Would've been nice to have been told something, especially since I did have a preliminary interview and sat with them face-to-face. Common courtesy. The lack of professionalism on this job market never ceases to astound me.
