Aarhus University (DEN) - Medical Anthropology [Non-TT]

• Three year assistant professorship in Medical Anthropology, to begin 1 Aug. 2015
• We are looking for a person with a strong research profile in medical anthropology. Fieldwork experience of direct relevance for the anthropology of global health will be considered essential. Applicants who have experience of research in both the Global South and the Global North will be preferred.
• The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in general teaching and curriculum development at the department, including the application of innovative teaching methods such as collaborative student involvement. The successful applicant will have special teaching responsibilities for the Master’s track on “Medical Anthropology and Glocal Ethnography” and will serve as the coordinator for this track. This involves teaching the introductory and elective courses; mentoring students to facilitate their early preparation of fieldwork (but not necessarily supervising all students on the track during fieldwork and thesis writing); and other related activities. The person appointed to the post will be required to complete a course in university teaching devised especially for assistant professors.

• "The position will focus on contemporary issues related to technology, and will complement the Department’s existing strengths in history of science and technology. Areas of specialization may include: law and regulatory practices, political economy, sociology of technology, anthropology of technology, or cognate fields in STS.  Candidates must have a PhD in Science and Technology Studies, or in a related field, and should show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and in scholarly research and publication.
