The Women’s and Gender Studies program (WGST) and Cinema and Media Studies department (CAMS) at Carleton College invites applications for a joint tenure-track position in LGBTQ Studies, starting September 1, 2018. Position Responsibilities: Kennesaw State University's English Department is accepting applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Writing for Stage and Screen. The position requires teaching courses in playwriting, screenwriting, and writing for TV in the Undergraduate Program in English as well as the MA in Professional Writing program and carries a 3/3 teaching load. Thesis supervision is also required. The successful candidate should be well-versed in the television and film industry, with a strong network of connections within the industry nationally and/or in Georgia. Knowledge of playwriting and connections to its field, as well as teaching experience is ideal. The candidate must be ready to lead writing workshops focused on relevant writing skills.
Auxiliary responsibilities include consulting on course and program development, participating in extra-curricular presentations within the university, and contributing broadly to the vitality of the department and the university community through a variety of service activities. The Television, Film, and New Media Program in the School of Theatre, Television, and Film is seeking a film scholar who specializes in international and independent cinema to teach in the critical studies area. Primary duties will include teaching lower division film studies classes and some upper division and graduate courses in film and television history, genre studies, international cinema, and other related courses within the School's curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in film studies or related area in hand required. The candidate should have a minimum of two years teaching experience at the university level and be a published scholar in film and television studies. Santa Clara University (CA) - TT Assistant Professor in Digital Filmmaking and New Media Technologies and Practices
The Communication Department at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic University located in the Silicon Valley, seeks an assistant professor (tenure track) in the digital filmmaking and new media technology area. Seattle University’s Film Studies Program, housed within the English Department, seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Film Studies beginning September 1, 2018.
Candidates will have the capacity to teach across the film studies curriculum, from introductory courses in film to more advanced topics in film history, aesthetics and theory. Additionally, candidates should offer an area of research expertise in one or more of the following areas: New media history and theory; national, transnational, diasporic or exilic film cultures, especially Asian, Latino, African or Indigenous; race/gender/sexuality/intersectional studies and visual culture; or the ability to contribute other new areas to our curriculum.

Position: The College of Fine Arts and Communication invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Media and Film beginning August 2018.
Qualifications: MFA/terminal degree in film and media production at the time of appointment, and demonstrated success as a classroom teacher. Must possess a strong record of producing his/her own media work, and have a demonstrated track record of achievement in film festivals and other distribution channels. The ideal candidate is experienced in small-crew narrative production; well-versed in helping students craft meaningful, ethical work that could engage with the greater Baltimore community; and will work to expand the department’s offerings in new, emerging, and interdisciplinary methods of visual storytelling and content delivery.
Responsibilities: The department seeks a dynamic media maker with the technical skills and all around production knowledge to provide professional expertise, teaching excellence, and inspiring mentorship to our undergraduate students. From diversity in the curriculum to providing students with the opportunity to learn from individuals with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, the Department of Electronic Media and Film is committed to providing its students with a vibrant and diverse educational experience. The typical teaching load includes teaching two sections of foundation courses in the film and video production curriculum, as well as one section of either cinematography, editing and advanced post-production techniques, or narrative filmmaking. Teaching these courses requires integrating technical and conceptual skills in hands-on media production and storytelling, using professional tools and techniques, as well as emerging mobile platforms, consumer gear, and internet-ready production methods.
Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units per academic year with the possibility of reassigned time for scholarship or additional service. Scholarship and service are also required. Creative scholarship should demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the candidate’s field of study. For service, the faculty member will participate in committees at the departmental, college, and/or university level, help with student advising, and build commitment engagement.
The Department: The department (http://www.towson.edu/emf) offers a major in Electronic Media and Film with concentrations in Film, Video, and Digital Media; Radio/Audio; and Film and Media Studies. The department enrolls approximately 400 majors and 100 minors served by 14 full-time and 20 part-time faculty.

The Department of Disability and Human Development is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor beginning in the academic year 2018-2019. The applicant should teach disability studies in the humanities with an interdisciplinary approach in one or more of these areas: cultural studies, gender and women’s studies, queer/crip studies, neurodiversity, race and ethnicity, mad studies, Deaf studies, intersectional analysis.
