Chapter Content Lead (PhD and teaching experience required) Edit

Responsibilities: Take ownership of one or more chapters of our current College Physics (algebra-based) manuscript and revise it to be appropriate for the University Physics course. You will work with our team through the peer-reviewing process to ensure the manuscript is fit for final publication. Work includes revisions to chapter exposition as well as the end of chapter exercises and providing direction on the art revisions that are necessary. Qualifications: PhD in physics (or related area) and experience teaching semesters 1, 2 and/or 3 of the calc-based physics sequence to undergrads is required. Must be comfortable writing in MS Word and using Mathtype for equation creation (not EquationEditor or LaTex). Preference given to candidates with experience creating teaching materials for publication, and familiarity with other market-leading textbooks (e.g. Young/Freedman). Timeline: The project is currently in progress and we seek people to join our team and work with us now through the end of the year (2015)

Qualifications: Proven experience as a scientific or technical editor for an introductory college level audience. Must be familiar with Mathtype for equation creation (not EquationEditor or LaTex). Preference is given to candidates who have textbook development experience. A degree in physics or related field is not required but is preferred. Timeline: The project is currently in progress and we seek people to join our team and work with us now through early 2016.
