Wilberforce University invites application for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Sociology to begin Fall, 2011. Ph.D. in Sociology is required at the time of employment. Specializations are open. Duties include teaching four courses per semester. The courses will include such courses as Principles of Sociology, Intro to Cultural Anthropology, Religion and Society, Social Theory, Medical Sociology, Social Problems and Family. Additional duties include building or adding to a record of scholarly publications or other scholarly activity and serving on committees. The faculty member must also engage in undergraduate advising and must work effectively with diverse student and faculty population. Applicant must have at least 3 years of successful university teaching experience.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualification.
