The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs seeks a theatre history scholar to join a growing program as it prepares to move into a new, state of the art performance and education venue. Theatre at UCCS is connected to a professional, Equity theatre company and a department that prides itself on interdisciplinary education and artistic expression. All professors and instructors in the program work with, direct for, or advise on the UCCS Theatre Company and its season of 6-8 productions. The ideal candidate will be a theatre history generalist and artist who could comfortably teach introductory courses as well as create exciting new courses in his/her area of expertise. The committee is particularly interested in candidates who can offer non-western expertise and the ability to teach practice-oriented courses such as beginning acting or directing.
3/2 position. Advising and service expectations. PhD required by August 2016.
