Assistant Professor of Advertising
The Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design in the College of Media, Communication and Information at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in advertising to begin August 2015.
The Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design (APRD) will begin operations in Fall 2015. It will offer a BS in Strategic Communication, (as of fall 2016) an MA and a PhD in Strategic Communication. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding researcher with the ability to teach basic and advanced courses in advertising with digital expertise in one or more of the following areas: advertising strategy and planning, media strategy and analytics, and account management. The standard course load is two classes per semester with opportunities to teach and mentor graduate students. The successful candidate is also expected to build and sustain ties with the advertising industry.
A PhD in advertising, mass communication, or a related field is required. Professional industry experience is desirable. ABD applicants with exceptional research, teaching and professional experience will be considered with the expectation of completion of a PhD by the time of appointment.
