Arkansas State University is currently recruiting for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in First-Year Writing and Writing Studies to join our small, but rapidly growing and changing Writing Program.
This new colleague will teach First-Year Writing and upper-level Writing Studies courses such as Intro to Writing Studies, Practical Writing, Technical Writing, Advanced Composition, Intro to Digital Writing, and others, based on experience. In addition to looking for someone who can teach a variety of writing courses, we are looking for someone who is doing compelling work and research in Writing Studies. A Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field is required. Candidates with specializations and/or teaching experience in STEM writing, technical writing, professional writing, and/or digital media are especially encouraged to apply.
The Arkansas State University Writing Program is housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Department of English, Philosophy, and World Languages, which are both located in our brand-new Humanities Building (http://www.astate.edu/…/humanities-and-social-sci…/index.dot). The Writing Program includes First-Year Composition, the Writing Center, the Writing Studies Minor, a Masters emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition, and several ongoing Writing Across the Curriculum and Writing in the Disciplines Initiatives.
We will begin reviewing applications February 11, but the position will remain open until filled.
