The English department at Portland State University seeks a person specializing in postcolonial approaches to literature and culture in English to start September 2010. Period and field open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Anglophone literatures and cultures of Africa, Asia, or the Caribbean.  Successful candidate will teach a wide range of courses focused on global, diasporic, and comparative approaches to theory, literature, race, and culture, as well as core courses in support of the English and University Studies curriculum. Ph.D. from a literature department or appropriate area studies program required for this position. 2/2/2 courseload; salary competitive and excellent benefits.
