Assistant Professor of Public Relations
The Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of public relations to begin August 2015.
The Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design (APRD) will begin operations in Fall 2015 and will offer a BS in Strategic Communication (as of fall 2016), an MA, and a PhD in Strategic Communication. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding researcher with the ability to teach a wide variety of courses in our undergraduate public relations curriculum. We are looking for a visionary candidate with strong interest in building our undergraduate program in public relations as well as our PhD program in strategic communication. The standard course load is two classes per semester with opportunities to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate is also expected to build and sustain ties with the public relations industry.
A PhD in public relations, mass communication, or a related field is required. Professional industry experience in public relations is desirable. ABD applicants with exceptional research, teaching and professional experience will be considered with the expectation of completion of a PhD by the time of appointment.
